Combining Arts, Recreation & Biking

Combining Arts, Recreation & Biking in Erie County!

In 2013, the Erie Art Museum helped lead an effort to create 40 artistic bike racks, which were installed in downtown Erie, by partnering and collaborating with community organizations like the Erie Downtown Partnership, Bike Erie, the City of Erie and many others. These racks not only uniquely reflect Erie’s history, but they are designed by local artists and are made right here in Erie, PA!

With the desire to help all of Erie County become more bicycle-friendly, the initiative has continued to grow and evolve. This year, project partners have combined forces with the Let’s Move Outside! Erie County Recreational Passport to expand the effort throughout Erie County. We’re excited to announce that during the summer, 20 or more bike racks will be placed along or near select LMO! trails.
